Instead of a messy water intercooler sprayer which proved to gain not very much why not try a Snow Performance water/meth injection kit. BS!!!!!!!! Proved how much they really knew the SLK 230 in the 1st place. There were some members here who no longer are on here who claimed the cams were the bottle neck. If I had the money right now I would do it but I have 3K wrapped up in the intercooler, injectors, and the M45! Maybe for Xmas but I doubt I will ever change out my cams. He eventually tuned it to 310bhp and 315lbs and low and behold NEVER changed out the cams!!!!!!!! Those damm cams are a lot of money to spend for very little gains but if you got the money call them up or an importer and go for it but do not expect anything more than what Schrick themselves told me. He took a 2002 C230 with the M111 engine and removed the M45 blower and installed a large Garrett T3/T4 turbo. Hell they do not even have they new abradable coatings on the rotors for christ sake.Ī while back I posted a thread about a guy named Speedwerx. The major bottle neck on both then 98-99 and the 00 to 04's is of course the M45 and M62 superchargers. Now that is not to say on your car and mine we could not see 10bhp gains or more because we all know not only is each car different it wholy depends on what you have modified on your car. When MB face lifted the SLK 230 in 2000 they redesigned the cylinder head and optimized the intake and exhaust ports which is just another way of saying they ported the damm thing. On the 00-04 230's it will not be as much. On the older 230's (98-99) you will see closer to a 10bhp gain. ![]() When Reentech was selling them for 3K they claimed 15bhp/15lbs. My aim is 280 BHP which is managed before by othersĪli, the Schrick cams are only good for 5-10bhp and that info is right from Schrick themselves about 4 months ago. I will spend money to modify my vehicle but I want to get reasonable BHP from each £££ that I 'll spend and want to feel that extra power. is it real? is it worth to pay £350 -GBP for each cam (2 required)ĥ- good brand Exhaust Header & performance Cel ( I should read more and learn about these subject)ħ- other necessary modification which I dont know anything about them now I think I should change my modification list,ġ- ASP pulley (its on the way coming to my address)Ģ- Intercooler Water Spray kit (ECU, pipes, nozzles etc.) it is must for my vehicle when temperature gauge read 45-48 c degree in summer time here in Cyprus.ģ- Thorttle body modification, I try to locate used one which has same part number of my vehicles thorttle body to buy and modify it according to the others experiences in this forum.Ĥ- Schrick camshaft kit, I read that they are good for additional 28 - 32 bhp. I hope you can give online shop / web address of companies which those parts can be bought.īy the way I already ordered ASP pulley because I read enough good feedback. It will help to me and other members who think start performance modification of their Facelift SLK230. Too expensive and it is not proved to it really give much power to the SLK engines. Water tank, powerfull water pump, spray nozzles, rubber pipes, heat and pressure sensor and ecu which directs water pump how often, how much it will spray water to the intercooler. Intercooler water spray help to cool down compressed air which passes from intercooler to the inlet manifold. I read on internet that there is ecu which control amount of water which will be sprayed on intercooler depend on heat sensor and compressor pressure. ![]() Oem exhaust system is really good but if you installed performance pulley which pushes more air in engine you need better exhaust system or at least good brand header.ĥ- Intercooler water spray (this is not water injection to the inlet manifold) It does not require any modification to replace oem intercooler (I only found at seller hasnt got any dyno result. Without installing bigger pulley but if you already installed bigger pulley intercooler is must. It is necessary if you install performance pulley, I also think that if you live in very hot place same as my country you can install performance intercooler Oem size perfromance filter is work if you already fitted performance pulley, (ITG brand has good feedback in this forum) Since I became member of this forum, I try to collect all good information about ' How to modify Facelift SLK230 'Ī- complete modified pulley (good) : ASP Racing manufacture this type which has good feedback in this forum
